A 38-year-old man in Cebu City has decided not to pursue legal action against his 41-year-old partner, who stabbed him in a fit of jealousy. The incident occurred on the afternoon of June 22, 2026, in Sityo Itom Yuta, Barangay Lorega San Miguel, Cebu City.
Incident Details
According to the Parian Police Station investigation, the victim, identified as alias Junjun, was outside their home when the suspect, alias An-an, began shouting accusations that Junjun was seeing another woman. The argument escalated, and An-an stabbed Junjun in the waist.
Despite the severity of the attack, An-an was released from jail on June 24 after Junjun decided not to file charges. The victim stated that love still prevails between them, even though they have only been together for four months.
Impact and Aftermath
The decision to drop the case means the suspect faces no legal consequences for the stabbing. The police have noted that such cases are not uncommon in domestic disputes, where victims often choose not to pursue charges due to emotional attachment.
Authorities remind the public that domestic violence is a serious offense, and victims are encouraged to seek help and legal recourse regardless of personal relationships.
