Top Wanted Suspect Arrested in Iloilo for Multiple Child Abuse Charges
In a significant law enforcement breakthrough, joint police operatives from the Police Regional Office in Western Visayas (PRO 6) have successfully apprehended a most wanted person (MWP) during a targeted manhunt operation. The arrest occurred in Barangay Poblacion, San Joaquin, Iloilo, at precisely 8:28 p.m. on March 10, 2026.
Details of the Arrest and Suspect
Authorities have identified the suspect as alias Reyman, a 37-year-old individual who held prominent positions on both provincial and municipal most wanted lists. Specifically, Reyman was listed as the fourth MWP at the provincial level under the Antique Police Provincial Office (Antppo) and the first MWP at the municipal level of the Caluya Municipal Police Station (MPS).
The arrest was executed based on a warrant issued for eight counts of acts of lasciviousness, in relation to Section 5(b), Article III of Republic Act 7610, also known as the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act. Court records indicate that this warrant was issued by the Regional Trial Court Branch 13 in Culasi, Antique, on January 23, 2026.
Police Commitment to Child Protection
Police Brigadier General Josefino Ligan, the director of PRO 6, emphasized the critical importance of this arrest in the broader context of child protection efforts. "This arrest reflects our unwavering commitment to protect children and ensure that those who exploit and abuse the vulnerable are brought before the law," Ligan stated. He further added, "We will continue to intensify our manhunt operations to deliver justice to victims and maintain safe communities across Western Visayas."
The operation was a coordinated effort involving operatives from the Caluya MPS, with crucial assistance provided by the San Joaquin MPS in Iloilo. This collaboration underscores the proactive and intensified measures being undertaken by PRO 6 to locate and arrest individuals facing serious criminal charges, with a particular focus on crimes against children.
Post-Arrest Procedures and Future Steps
Following his apprehension, Reyman was placed under the temporary custody of the San Joaquin MPS. This step is part of the standard procedure for proper disposition and eventual turnover to the issuing court. Authorities have confirmed that once transferred to the custody of the court that issued the warrant, the suspect will face the charges filed against him.
The PRO 6 has reiterated its steadfast commitment to strengthening manhunt operations throughout the region. This ongoing initiative aims to ensure that fugitives are apprehended and that justice is effectively served for victims of crime, thereby enhancing public safety and upholding the rule of law.
