80 New Policemen Join Angeles City Police Office

The Angeles City Police Office (ACPO) has significantly bolstered its manpower with the addition of 80 new police officers. This move aims to enhance law enforcement and public safety services for the city's residents.

Formal Presentation to City Leadership

On Monday, January 19, 2026, Colonel Joselito E. Villarosa Jr., the director of ACPO, formally presented the new recruits to Mayor Jon Lazatin. The courtesy call also included the city's present officers and non-uniformed personnel, symbolizing the unified front of the local police force.

The event served to highlight the ongoing and strengthened partnership between the Angeles City Government and the ACPO. The primary shared goal is to ensure the safety and security of every Angeleño citizen.

Strengthening Police Numbers and Support

The request for additional police personnel was initiated by Colonel Villarosa, who sought augmentation from the Police Regional Office 3 (PRO 3) based in Camp Olivas. The request was approved under the leadership of Brigadier General Ponce Rogelio Peñones Jr..

With this latest batch of recruits, the total strength of the ACPO now stands at 747 personnel, which includes both regular police officers and non-uniformed staff. This increase is a direct response to the city's growing needs for peace and order.

City Government's Commitment to Safety

In response to the bolstered force, Mayor Jon Lazatin expressed his gratitude to both PRO 3 and the ACPO leadership for facilitating the increase in police numbers. The mayor gave his assurance that the city government will continue its full support to the local police.

Lazatin underscored various city-led programs designed to assist the police in their core mission of protecting the people of Angeles City. This partnership is viewed as a critical component in maintaining the city's status as a safe and livable community.
