Delivery Boy Arrested for Alleged Molestation in Cebu

A 32-year-old delivery boy is now in police custody after being accused of committing a lewd act against a senior citizen in Cebu City. The incident, which has sparked local outrage, occurred in the early hours of Sunday, December 14, 2025.

Confrontation and Arrest on General Maxilom Avenue

The alleged crime took place around 3:00 AM on December 14, 2025, along General Maxilom Avenue in Barangay Cogon Ramos, Cebu City. According to the police investigation, the 50-year-old victim was walking with her grandchild when the suspect, identified only by the alias "Jerome" from Barangay Pasil, approached them.

It is alleged that Jerome then touched the private parts of the grandmother. Enraged by the violation, the woman immediately moved her grandchild to safety and confronted the man. The suspect reportedly attempted to flee the scene.

Quick Police Response Leads to Apprehension

Fortunately, the confrontation was witnessed by a roving police patrol unit that was in the vicinity. The officers quickly responded to the scene, leading to the immediate apprehension of the suspect. He was subsequently brought to the Abellana Police Station for processing and to sober up, as he was believed to be under the influence of alcohol at the time.

At the police station, the suspect, Jerome, vehemently denied the allegations. He provided a different account of the events, claiming the act was purely accidental.

Suspect's Defense and Facing Charges

In his statement to investigators, Jerome claimed he was on his way home after attending a Christmas party. He alleged that upon reaching the area, he tripped and, in the process, accidentally made contact with the victim's leg. He insisted that he never had any intention to act indecently or disrespect the woman.

Despite his denial, the Cebu City Police Office is proceeding with the filing of formal charges. Jerome will face a case for Acts of Lasciviousness under the Revised Penal Code. The case will undergo further investigation and will be forwarded to the City Prosecutor's Office for inquest proceedings to determine probable cause.
