Shooting Incident on V. Rama Avenue

A 28-year-old man identified as John Arthur Palao was killed in a shooting incident that occurred around 2:20 in the afternoon on Wednesday, December 17, 2025. The attack took place along V. Rama Avenue in Sitio Melonida, Barangay Calamba, Cebu City. Palao was a resident of nearby Sitio Kawayan, Barangay Sambag II.

Details of the Attack from Witness and Police

According to the initial investigation conducted by the Sawang Calero Police Station 6 under the Cebu City Police Office, the victim was simply walking in the area when he was ambushed. A witness to the crime provided crucial details to the authorities.

The witness stated that one of the suspects, described as wearing a red T-shirt, was already hiding behind a concrete post before Palao approached. As the victim passed by, the suspect pulled a firearm from his waist and fired multiple times, hitting Palao in the back.

The assailants, two men in total, fled the scene immediately after the shooting. The witness was able to identify one suspect as Rosmar Manceniro, while his accomplice remains unidentified and is currently listed as John Doe.

Victim Pronounced Dead, Police Launch Manhunt

Despite being rushed to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment, John Arthur Palao was declared dead on arrival by attending physicians. The fatal wounds he sustained from the gunshots proved too severe.
