San Remigio Implements Four-Day Workweek to Boost Energy Savings

The local government of San Remigio has officially launched a compressed four-day workweek, effective March 23, 2026, as a key component of its energy conservation initiative. This new schedule aligns with Memorandum Circular No. 114, setting regular office operations from Monday to Thursday each week.

Revised Office Hours and Operational Adjustments

Under this development, the majority of municipal offices will now operate from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. during the four-day work period. However, specific departments, including Accounting, Treasury, Budget, and the Local Civil Registrar, will follow adjusted hours from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. to accommodate essential administrative functions.

Exemptions for Critical Services

Despite the shortened workweek, frontline, emergency, and essential services remain fully operational and are exempt from this new directive. Offices such as the Mayor's Office, Vice Mayor's Office, Emergency Medical Services, Comelec, Tourism Office, traffic management, birthing facility, and the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) will continue their services with a skeletal workforce in place.
