Police in Cebu City conducted a swift operation leading to the arrest of three young men allegedly involved in a robbery using electronic bikes as their getaway vehicles.
Swift Police Response Leads to Arrest
The incident occurred in the early hours of December 15 along N. Bacalso Avenue in Barangay Duljo Fatima. According to the investigation, a 19-year-old man became the victim of the group at around 3:30 AM. The assailants held a weapon to his neck and forcibly took his cellphone, valued at approximately P12,000.
Suspects Apprehended Within 30 Minutes
A quick-witness in the area immediately reported the crime to the authorities. This prompt report enabled the Mambaling Police Station to launch a follow-up operation without delay. The efficient police work resulted in the apprehension of the three suspects by 4:00 AM, just half an hour after the crime was reported.
The individuals taken into custody were identified through their aliases:
- Alias "Rico," 19, a resident of Alaska, Barangay Mambaling.
- Alias "Wally," 22, from Barangay Sawang Calero.
- Alias "Joseph," 21, residing on Sanciangko Street, Barangay Kamagayan.
Evidence Recovered, Charges Filed
Authorities successfully recovered several key pieces of evidence from the suspects. These included the victim's stolen cellphone, the weapon used in the robbery, and the two e-bikes that served as both the mode of operation and the intended escape vehicles for the group.
The three men are currently detained at the Mambaling Police Station. Appropriate criminal charges have already been filed against them as the legal process begins.
