The Bacolod City Police Office executed a significant drug bust in Purok Langis, Barangay Banago, Bacolod City on March 31, 2026, resulting in the seizure of an estimated P170,000 worth of a substance believed to be shabu. Arrest of Suspect and Recovery of Evidence

During the operation, police arrested a 62-year-old individual known by the alias "Mang," who is a resident of the village. According to BCPO records, the suspect was apprehended by operatives from the City Drug Enforcement Unit after he sold a sachet of shabu to an undercover poseur buyer.

Authorities recovered several plastic sachets containing approximately 25 grams of shabu from the suspect's possession, along with marked money used in the transaction. This evidence is crucial for building a strong case against the individual involved.

Suspect Profile and Investigation Details

Police Captain Dax Santillan, the spokesperson for BCPO, identified the suspect as a street-level individual in Bacolod City. He revealed that the suspect had been under surveillance for nearly a month prior to the arrest, indicating a well-planned and monitored operation.

Santillan emphasized that a thorough investigation is currently underway to trace and identify the supplier of the seized drugs. This effort aims to dismantle broader drug networks operating in the area and prevent future illicit activities.

Legal Proceedings and Charges

The suspect is now detained at the custodial facility of Police Station 3 in Bacolod City. He faces serious charges for violating Sections 5 and 11 of Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. These sections pertain to the sale and possession of dangerous drugs, which could result in severe penalties upon conviction.
