Basilan Provincial Government Continues Rice Sadaqah Distribution for Ramadan Observers

The provincial government of Basilan is actively continuing its distribution of Rice Sadaqah to residents who are observing the holy month of Ramadan in various parts of the province. This charitable initiative underscores the government's commitment to supporting families in need during this significant religious period.

Substantial Donation to Tipo-Tipo Municipality

Basilan Governor Mujiv Hataman announced that a substantial donation of approximately 4,765 sacks of five-kilogram rice was made on Friday, February 20, to the municipal government of Tipo-Tipo. This rice is intended for distribution to fellow citizens observing Ramadan, ensuring they have essential food supplies.

Each sack prominently features the province's official logo and carries the heartfelt message: “From Your People's Government”. This inscription serves as a clear symbol of the government's genuine concern and dedication to assisting families facing hardship during Ramadan.

Completed and Ongoing Distribution Efforts

Governor Hataman provided an update in a recent statement, confirming that the distribution for validated household beneficiaries in Tuburan town and selected barangays within Lamitan City has been successfully completed. He further encouraged residents by stating, “Expect the arrival of assistance in several other municipalities in our province. Feel the concern, feel the unity in Basilan.”

To ensure the efficient and fair allocation of resources, Governor Hataman has urged local governments to coordinate closely with the Provincial Government. This coordination is crucial to guarantee that the Rice Sadaqah reaches the individuals and families who are most in need.

Coordination Channels for Assistance

For effective coordination, local officials and community representatives can contact designated personnel. Specifically, they are advised to reach out to Mahid Kannama at the Office of the Provincial Governor or Anwary Akkalun of the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office. These points of contact will facilitate the smooth implementation of the distribution program.

It is important to note that Sadaqah refers to voluntary charity in Islam, a practice highly encouraged during Ramadan. This initiative by the Basilan provincial government exemplifies the spirit of giving and community support inherent in this religious observance, fostering a sense of unity and care among residents.
