In a significant relief effort, Bacolod City Lone District Representative Alfredo Abelardo Benitez has provided P1 million in cash assistance to at least 189 families who lost their homes in a devastating fire. The blaze occurred on February 27, 2026, in Purok Katilingban 1 and 2, Barangay 39, Bacolod City, destroying numerous residences and displacing hundreds of individuals.
Immediate Financial Support Distributed
On March 5, 2026, Representative Benitez personally distributed P5,000 to each affected family sheltered at the Barangay 39 Gymnasium. He emphasized that this assistance came from his personal funds, aiming to address urgent needs during the critical recovery phase.
