Barangay captains each received P200,000 as incentives, while Tabuelan Mayor Rex Gerona and Moalboal Mayor Inocentes “Titing” Carbon were granted P8 million each in cash assistance. In interviews following the distribution, several barangay captains expressed their gratitude and outlined how the funds will be utilized. Barangay Captain Elia Estremos of Barangay Buenavista in Tudela, Cebu, emphasized that the assistance will be directed toward fixing their multipurpose building, which was compromised during a recent earthquake. She noted, “We will use the incentive to repair our multipurpose building, because it was damaged due to a recent earthquake. It will help a lot in repairing our damaged multipurpose building.” This underscores the critical role of the funds in restoring essential community spaces.

Similarly, Barangay Captain Danilo Reynes of Barangay Tubod in Minglanilla, Cebu, shared his plans for the cash incentive. He intends to allocate the funds toward repairing their damaged water system, which was affected by a fallen tree. Reynes explained, “We will use this to renovate our water system. I will re-construct it because it was damaged by a fallen tree.” This highlights the diverse range of infrastructure challenges being addressed through the provincial government's assistance, from building repairs to essential utility systems.
