Details of the Shooting Incident
The incident occurred around 2:00 a.m. in Sitio Baskio, Barangay Basak Pardo, Cebu City. According to reports from the Inayawan Police Station, Mabasa was walking when he was approached by two men. One suspect wore a black jacket, while the other had on a blue t-shirt. The pair inquired if Mabasa had a supply of illegal drugs for purchase, but when he responded that he had none, one of the suspects suddenly shot him in the neck.
Victim's Escape and Hospitalization
Despite his injury, Mabasa managed to flee the scene and return to his home in Sitio Ubca 3, Barangay Quiot, Cebu City. His family promptly called for an ambulance from the Emergency Medical Services of the Cebu City Government, which transported him to CCMC for urgent medical care. His condition remains under monitoring as he recovers from the gunshot wound.
Ongoing Police Investigation
Police Lieutenant Colonel Jose Los Baños, the information officer of the Cebu City Police Office, confirmed that the Inayawan Police Station is actively investigating the case.
