Electrician Apprehended in Early Morning Drug Operation in Cebu City

In a significant crackdown on illegal narcotics, an electrician identified as a high-value individual was arrested in a buy-bust operation conducted in the early hours of Wednesday, February 25, 2026. The operation, which took place at 3:19 a.m. in Sityo Back Rubber World, Barangay Basak San Nicolas, Cebu City, involved a coordinated effort by multiple law enforcement agencies.

Coordinated Law Enforcement Efforts Lead to Arrest

The Special Operation Unit (SOU) 7, in collaboration with personnel from the PNP Drug Enforcement Group (PDEG) and the Integrity Monitoring Enforcement Group (IMEG 7), executed the operation. Authorities had previously received intelligence regarding the suspect's involvement in illegal drug activities. After thorough validation and monitoring confirmed his role in drug trafficking, the operation was promptly launched.

The suspect, identified as Rhemar Pacres, alias "Yumi," a 41-year-old resident of the area, was taken into custody. During the arrest, various packages of suspected shabu were seized from his possession. The confiscated drugs weighed approximately 55 grams and have an estimated Standard Drug Price (SDP) of P374,000, highlighting the substantial value of the contraband.

Legal Proceedings and Ongoing Investigations

Following the arrest, authorities are now investigating the source or supplier of the illegal drugs linked to Pacres. This step is crucial in dismantling broader drug networks and preventing further distribution. Meanwhile, police have prepared charges against the suspect for violations of Section 5 and 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

This arrest underscores the ongoing efforts by law enforcement to combat drug-related crimes in the region. The involvement of multiple specialized units demonstrates a strategic approach to targeting high-value individuals in the illegal drug trade. As the case progresses, further updates are expected regarding the investigation and legal outcomes.
