MinDA and BARMM Leaders Embrace Shared Vision for Mindanao at Fellowship Night
The Mindanao Development Authority (MinDA) has made a significant commitment to bridging regional divides and integrating efforts for peace during a high-level fellowship night held in Quezon City on March 23, 2026. This event marked a pivotal moment in fostering collaboration between national and regional authorities, with MinDA chairperson Secretary Leo Tereso A. Magno and Bangsamoro Chief Minister Abdulraof Macacua leading the charge.
A Cornerstone for National Unity and Renewal
Secretary Magno emphasized that the fellowship was not merely a celebration but a reaffirmation of solidarity between Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) officials and the national government. He expressed gratitude for Chief Minister Macacua's leadership and highlighted the Executive-Legislative Forum held earlier that day as a model of effective collaboration. Magno stated, "Tonight is not only a celebration but also a reaffirmation of solidarity between BARMM officials and the national government."
In his message, Chief Minister Macacua underscored the fellowship as a symbol of collective responsibility and shared aspirations. He remarked, "Our fellowship tonight is a reminder that the Bangsamoro story is not written alone. It is built together—with the national government, with our partners in the international community, and with the people we serve." This sentiment reflects a broader commitment to inclusive governance and regional development.
Strengthening Partnerships for Development and Peace
MinDA reaffirmed its role as a key partner to BARMM in driving development, promoting peace, and advancing regional integration through initiatives like the Brunei Darussalam-Indonesia-Malaysia-Philippines East ASEAN Growth Area (Bimp-Eaga). Secretary Magno articulated a vision for a stronger and more inclusive Mindanao, stating, "With BARMM's leadership and the support of President Marcos Jr., we are laying the foundations of a Mindanao that is stronger, more inclusive, and a pillar of unity and good governance for the nation."
He further urged all stakeholders to carry forward the spirit of fellowship into the shared goal of Building a Better Mindanao, emphasizing the importance of sustained collaboration in achieving lasting peace and prosperity.
