Body of Missing Woman Tess Mamac Found in Angeles City Residence Compound
The Angeles City Police Office (ACPO) confirmed on Monday, February 16, 2026, that they have recovered the body of Maria Teresa "Tess" Mamac, a woman who had been reported missing since February 12, 2026. The discovery marks a tragic turn in the search for the victim, whose disappearance had prompted extensive police efforts.
Discovery Near Septic Tank in Family Compound
At approximately 6:00 PM on February 16, personnel from Police Station 4 and the Angeles City Forensic Unit conducted a thorough search of the Mamac family's residential compound. During the operation, officers focused their attention on an area near a septic tank adjacent to a former piggery. After excavating the site, they uncovered a body that was later positively identified by Mamac's children as that of the missing woman.
Authorities had previously launched coordination and follow-up operations to trace Mamac's whereabouts, but the breakthrough came only after this targeted search. The remains have since been turned over to Pangilinan Funeral Services, where an autopsy will be performed to determine the exact cause of death.
Person of Interest and Reward Offered
In response to the discovery, Carmelo "Jon" Lazatin II has directed the ACPO to intensify its search for Manuel Tolentino, the family's driver, who has been tagged as a person of interest in the case. According to Mamac's son, RM, Tolentino served as the family's driver and aide to the late Balibago village chief Rodelio "Tony" Mamac Sr. for over two decades.
Pampanga First District Representative Carmelo "Pogi" Lazatin Jr. has condemned the crime and called for swift justice. To aid in the investigation, he has announced a ₱200,000 reward for anyone who can provide information leading to the identification and arrest of the suspect or suspects involved. Police have stated that a thorough investigation is now underway to uncover the circumstances surrounding Mamac's death and to apprehend those responsible.
