Mother and Three Children Injured in Tricycle Accident in Dumanjug

A mother and her three minor children were injured after the tricycle they were riding collided with a parked multicab on Monday night, February 23, 2026, in Barangay Tuno-Dugoan, Dumanjug City.

Details of the Victims

The victims have been identified as Arceli Uperales, an elderly woman, and her three children aged 10, 9, and 7 years old. All are residents of the area.

Investigation Findings

According to an investigation by the Dumanjug Police Station, the victims were returning home from a local school around 7:00 PM when the incident occurred. Arceli was driving the sidecar tricycle when it suddenly experienced a mechanical failure with its chain.

Due to this mechanical issue, she lost control of the vehicle, causing it to crash into a multicab that was parked along the roadside.

Impact and Rescue Efforts

The forceful impact ejected the mother and her three children from the tricycle. Bystanders in the vicinity quickly assisted them and called for emergency responders.

Personnel from the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) in Dumanjug responded promptly and transported the victims to the nearest medical facility for treatment.
