Iloilo City Police File Murder Charges in Fatal Family Feud Stabbing
The Iloilo City Police Office (Icpo) has formally filed three counts of murder against three suspects connected to a brutal stabbing incident that resulted in four fatalities and two injuries. This violent altercation, which erupted from a heated dispute between two families, occurred on the evening of March 21, 2026, in Barangay San Isidro, La Paz District, Iloilo City.
Details of the Charges and Suspects
Police Colonel Wilbert Parilla, the officer-in-charge of the Iloilo City Police Office, announced that the charges were submitted to the Iloilo City Prosecutor’s Office on the afternoon of March 24, 2026. The accused include two individuals under hospital arrest: alias GM, aged 39, and alias Nonoy, aged 43. Additionally, alias Alex, 43, who remains at large, is also facing charges. All three suspects are residents of the same barangay where the incident took place.
In a statement, Parilla emphasized, "Justice will be served for the victims of this tragic incident. We assure the public that the Iloilo City Police Office remains on top of the situation. Our security measures are being strengthened as we continue to serve and protect the people of Iloilo City. Our campaign against all forms of illegal activities remains focused and intensified."
Background of the Violent Clash
According to reports from Iloilo City Police Station 2, the stabbing incident originated from a longstanding and heated dispute between members of two families living in Barangay San Isidro. The confrontation quickly escalated into a violent clash involving bladed weapons, leading to multiple stab wounds among those involved.
The injured victims were rushed to separate hospitals, where four individuals were pronounced dead on arrival by attending physicians. The fatalities have been identified as:
- Johnny P. Jr., 40
- Johnny P. Sr., 68
- Joeven P., 46
- Tyron M., 33
All deceased individuals belonged to the opposing family in the feud.
Current Status of Investigation and Suspects
Two of the suspects, GM and Nonoy, sustained injuries during the incident and are currently receiving medical treatment while under police custody. The third suspect, Alex, remains at large, prompting authorities to launch follow-up operations aimed at his immediate arrest.
