NCRPO deploys 9,533 cops for White Ribbon Rally

The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) will deploy a total of 9,533 police officers for the White Ribbon Rally scheduled on June 28, 2026, at the EDSA People Power Monument. NCRPO spokesperson Maj. Hazel Asilo stated that no specific security threats have been identified, but the deployment is part of thorough preparations to ensure public safety.

Directive from PNP Chief

Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. issued the directive to the NCRPO and other regional offices to conduct security threat assessments around the EDSA Shrine and critical infrastructure. He emphasized that the PNP remains apolitical and focused solely on maintaining order, exercising maximum tolerance, and implementing proper traffic management protocols.

Rally Objectives and Organizers

The rally is organized by the Interreligious Leaders Council for National Transformation (IRCNT) in collaboration with various faith-based organizations and civil society groups. The event aims to push for electoral reforms, stronger government accountability, and action against corruption and political dynasties.
