Massive Police Deployment for Rally

The Philippine National Police (PNP) is prepared to deploy 9,553 personnel across Metro Manila for the rally organized by church groups and civil society. The protest aims to call for government reforms and accountability amid the ongoing flood control probe and impeachment proceedings against Vice President Sara Duterte.

An estimated 10,000 individuals are expected to participate in the march organized by the Inter-Religious Leaders’ Council against corruption and political dynasties.

Open to All, Politicians Banned from Speaking

According to Professor David San Juan, convenor of the alliance Tama Na, the protest is open to everyone to advance advocacy against corruption and for electoral reform. He stated that they are also calling for the expansion of the investigation into the flood control scam, continuation of the trial against VP Sara, and ensuring accountability for all those involved in corruption.

The program will conclude at the EDSA People Power Monument with a prayer rally and speeches from leaders of various groups. The organizers clarified that although the march is open to the public, politicians will not be allowed to speak to avoid giving the activity a political color.
