PNP Denies Special Treatment for Senator Bato dela Rosa Amid Arrest Warrant Issue
PNP: No Special Treatment for Senator Bato dela Rosa

The Philippine National Police (PNP) has clarified that Senator Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa will not receive any special treatment amid discussions regarding the arrest warrant linked to him. PNP Chief General Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. stated that all police actions will remain based on the law and the organization's mandate, regardless of an individual's rank or position.

PNP’s Stance on Legal Frameworks

The PNP issued this statement in response to public inquiries about whether the enforcement of the law against the senator would be stringent, given his previous position as the head of the national police and his long-standing connections with the organization. “The Philippine National Police operates strictly on legal frameworks and our sworn oath to serve and protect, meaning no individual is above the law regardless of rank or title,” Nartatez said.

Directives to Police Units

Furthermore, the PNP chief ordered all police units to strictly follow standard operating procedures in any operations related to Dela Rosa. Dela Rosa is facing issues concerning an arrest warrant from the International Criminal Court (ICC). Nartatez also issued a directive to police commanders to avoid any preferential treatment and unauthorized disclosure of information that could affect police operations.
