PNP Reports Billions in Drug Seizures, Vows Continued Anti-Narcotics Drive

The Philippine National Police (PNP) has underscored the sustained success of the government's anti-drug campaign, citing substantial drug confiscations, numerous arrests, and the ongoing dismantling of drug syndicates. In a statement issued on Sunday, February 15, 2026, acting chief Lieutenant General Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. highlighted these achievements while stressing the need for enhanced discipline, integrity, and professionalism within the police force.

Focus on Supply-Side Operations and Human Rights

Nartatez emphasized that the PNP remains committed to sustaining and even surpassing the country's accomplishments in the drug war, particularly in confiscating illegal substances and apprehending drug personalities, with a strong focus on the supply side. He noted that all operations must strictly adhere to police procedures grounded in integrity and the rule of law, aligning with directives from President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. and Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Jonvic Remulla for policy reforms that prioritize human rights.

"We are also making sure that all our operations strictly follow the police operational procedures that are anchored on integrity and the rule of law as part of our continuous efforts to win the trust and respect of the Filipino people," Nartatez added.

Significant Seizures and Arrests Since 2022

Since 2022, authorities have confiscated approximately P99.5 billion worth of illegal drugs nationwide. Of this total, around P25.3 billion was seized in aggressive police operations throughout 2025 alone. The same operations last year led to the arrest of over 67,000 individuals involved in illegal drug activities.

In recent anti-drug efforts, police apprehended 11 suspects, including nine high-value targets and two street-level individuals, across various regions. These operations also resulted in the confiscation of illegal drugs valued at P54,969,000. The seized substances included marijuana worth P28,332,500 and shabu worth P26,636,500.

Intelligence-Driven and Relentless Operations

Nartatez affirmed that drug operations will continue to be relentless and intelligence-driven, moving beyond targeting small-time users and pushers to focus on high-value targets and disrupting supply networks. "The series of successful operations in the past few years is proof that we are making significant gains in running after high-value targets and in disrupting the supply network of illegal drugs syndicates," he stated.

The PNP's ongoing efforts aim to meet high public expectations while ensuring that anti-illegal drugs operations uphold human rights and legal standards, reflecting a broader commitment to policy reform and professional conduct within the organization.
