The Police Regional Office–Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR) has officially recognized a police official and three non-commissioned officers for their exceptional dedication, courage, and exemplary achievements in law enforcement. This prestigious recognition ceremony was held on March 16, 2026, in front of the PRO-NIR Admin Building at Camp Alfredo M. Montelibano Sr., located in Barangay Estefania, Bacolod City.

Ceremony Led by Regional Director

Police Brigadier General Arnold Thomas Ibay, the PRO-NIR regional director, personally led the ceremony. He was joined by the Command Group, regional staff, personal staff, and numerous other officers and personnel from PRO-NIR. Award Recipients and Their Achievements

Two officers were awarded the Medalya ng Kagalingan for acts of gallantry and commendable performance of duty. Lieutenant Colonel Alvin Christopher Baybaya and Chief Master Sergeant Onald Villa, both personnel of the Talisay City Police Station under the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOcPPO), were honored for their role in implementing a Warrant of Arrest.

This operation took place on January 7, 2026, at Hacienda Alasigan Lizares in Barangay Dos Hermanas, Talisay City, Negros Occidental. The arrest was for the crime of Statutory Rape under specific legal provisions, resulting in the capture of a Rank 10 Regional Most Wanted Person, showcasing their effectiveness in high-stakes situations.

Additional Honors for Valuable Service

Master Sergeant Jun Senarosa and Patrolman Jericho Florendo received the Medalya ng Papuri for their invaluable service as personnel of Police Station 9 under the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO). They were recognized for their immediate response to an incident that occurred on February 3, 2026, in Purok Santan, Barangay Cabug, Bacolod City.

This operation led to the successful arrest of two suspects for violations including RA 10883 and Disobedience to an Agent of Person in Authority. Their quick actions prevented further criminal activity and demonstrated proactive law enforcement efforts in the community.
