The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Davao de Oro Provincial Office has announced robust achievements for the first quarter of 2026, with its National ID (NID) Team making substantial progress in expanding the system's coverage across the province. Preliminary data reveals a successful registration drive and enhanced service delivery efforts.
Registration and Issuance Milestones
From January to March 2026, the NID Team registered a total of 6,284 individuals for the National ID. Notably, this figure includes 880 children aged four years old and below, demonstrating the ongoing commitment to include younger demographics in the identification system. In addition, the team facilitated the issuance of 10,264 National IDs in paper format, enabling more Filipinos to access essential services that require valid identification.
Intensified Field Operations
To accomplish these results, the NID Team ramped up its field operations through mobile registration and community-based initiatives. Mobile registration activities were conducted in 60 barangays across municipalities such as Monkayo, Nabunturan, New Bataan, Maco, Maragusan, Pantukan, Mabini, and Laak. These efforts primarily targeted beneficiaries of government programs, including the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) and Social Pension (Socpen).
House-to-House Registration and Caravan Activities
In coordination with Local Government Units (LGUs), particularly Municipal Social Welfare and Development Offices (MSWDOs), the team implemented House-to-House Registration activities in selected barangays. This initiative focused on reaching vulnerable groups, such as senior citizens, bedridden individuals, and residents with limited mobility, ensuring their inclusion in the National ID system.
Furthermore, the NID Team actively participated in nine caravan activities across various municipalities. During these events, the team not only provided registration services but also conducted Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) campaigns. These campaigns aimed to raise public awareness about the benefits, registration process, and importance of the National ID.
Commitment to Inclusive Service Delivery
These collective efforts underscore the PSA's dedication to inclusive service delivery, striving to ensure that no Filipino is left behind in the implementation of the National ID system. The achievements reflect a proactive approach to overcoming barriers and enhancing accessibility for all residents of Davao de Oro.
