Supporters of the Duterte family gathered in Cebu on Sunday, May 10, 2026, for the Visayas launch of the Reform Alliance for Accountability, Good Governance and Ethics (RAGE) Coalition, a political alliance led by Davao City Mayor Sebastian “Baste” Duterte.
Event Details
The gathering, held at Casino Español de Cebu, brought together civic organizations, grassroots movements, and political groups from various parts of the Visayas, united in the coalition’s call for accountability, governance reform, and the protection of democracy.
According to organizers, the alliance comprises 111 groups from the Visayas regions, along with national political organizations such as Partido Demokratiko Pilipino, Partido Reporma, and Reform PH.
Duterte's Speech
Duterte, who serves as the lead convenor of the coalition, attended the launch and delivered a speech to supporters, criticizing what he described as a political culture driven by transactions and money. He emphasized that many of the country’s problems persist because governance has become more focused on personal and political interests rather than public service.
Timing and Priorities
The Visayas launch took place a day before the scheduled deliberation and voting in the House of Representatives on the articles of impeachment against Vice President Sara Duterte.
The coalition stated that its priorities include demanding accountability for corruption and alleged misuse of public funds, addressing rising commodity prices, protecting democratic institutions, and safeguarding citizens and organizations against alleged government abuse of power.
Strengthening Coordination
The gathering also aimed to strengthen coordination among Visayas-based groups and support the broader nationwide movement of the coalition, which focuses on accountability, participation, and governance reform.
