The City Government of San Jose Del Monte in Bulacan has officially launched the PhilHealth Express service, bringing faster and more accessible healthcare support directly to residents. This initiative, located at the City Action Center in Barangay Kaypian, commenced operations on February 11, 2026, as part of efforts to streamline health services for the community.
Leadership and Collaboration Drive the Initiative
Spearheaded by Mayor Florida "Ate Rida" Robes, the launch saw key figures including PhilHealth Acting Vice President Atty. Ma. Emily P. Roque, Acting Branch Manager Arlan M. Granali, and City Health Office Head Dr. Roselle Tolentino. Their collaboration aims to enhance the efficiency of PhilHealth processes, making it easier for San Joseños to access vital health benefits.
Services Offered at PhilHealth Express
The PhilHealth Express, managed by Placido Mallari, Head of PhilHealth Sta. Maria, and Mary Rose C. Cruz, provides a comprehensive range of services. These include PhilHealth registration, record updates, YAKAP clinic selection, ID and Member Data Record printing and distribution, and information dissemination on health benefits and programs. Operating from Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, this facility is a significant gift to residents, aligning with PhilHealth's 31st anniversary theme: "Ka-YAKAP ang Pilipino sa Kalusugang Sigurado."
Enhancing the YAKAP Program
In addition to the express services, the city is intensifying the PhilHealth YAKAP or Yaman ng Kalusugan Program, formerly known as "KONSULTA." This program offers check-ups, laboratory tests, cancer screenings, and medications for families and communities, aiming to prevent illnesses and promote overall health and strength among the populace.
Steps to Access YAKAP Benefits
To utilize the YAKAP benefits, residents must follow these steps:
- Ensure registration with PhilHealth as a member or dependent, which includes legal spouses and children aged 20 years and below.
- Visit the PhilHealth Express or a nearby PhilHealth office to fill out a form for selecting a YAKAP clinic. Alternatively, use the eGov app by downloading it, creating an account, and choosing a clinic online.
- After selecting a YAKAP clinic, proceed there for check-ups, laboratory services, medications, and cancer screenings as recommended by the YAKAP doctor.
Broad Support for Health Initiatives
PhilHealth is partnering with the city government, barangay captains, health workers, government agencies, private and public facilities, hospitals, doctors, and pharmacies to expand the YAKAP program and other health services. This collaborative effort underscores a commitment to ensuring accessible healthcare for all residents, fostering a healthier and more resilient community.
