Vice President Sara Duterte visited the Archdiocesan Shrine of St. Vincent Ferrer in Bogo City, Cebu, on the eve of her impeachment trial scheduled for July 6, 2026. She lit a candle and prayed for peace in the country and the safety of Filipinos at home and abroad.
Prayers for Bogo City's Recovery
According to a photo shared by Duterte on social media, her prayers also included the condition and continued recovery of Bogo City after the damage caused by a recent strong earthquake. Parts of the church remain affected, and masses are temporarily held in a makeshift building within the compound.
Call for Unity and Resilience
Duterte expressed her desire for the unity and resilience of Filipinos, encouraging continued love for the country. The visit comes as she prepares for her impeachment trial, which has drawn national attention.
