In a recent interview, Comelec Chairman George Garcia disclosed that the poll body has forwarded the SOCE documents of the seven candidates, which include both winners and losers from the 2022 senatorial race. "There are more or less seven candidates for the senator. There were winners and there were those that didn't win," Garcia stated, emphasizing the non-partisan nature of the submission.
Garcia further affirmed the Comelec's unwavering support for the ICI's investigative efforts, noting that all requested documents are public records. "The Comelec is fully supportive of the ICI, whatever documents they will need. Anyway, these are all public documents," he added, highlighting the transparency of the process.

"We sent it to our Political Finance and Affairs Department (PFAD) for them to immediately communicate and give these documents to ICI," Garcia explained, outlining the procedural steps taken to ensure timely compliance.
