DSWD 7 Enhances AICS via eGovPH Hub in Mandaue

The Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office 7–Central Visayas (DSWD 7) has significantly strengthened its delivery of Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations (AICS) through a strategic partnership with the Bagong Pilipinas eGovPH Serbisyo Hub, located in Barangay Subangdaku, Mandaue City. This collaboration marks a pivotal step in enhancing public service accessibility and efficiency for local communities.

Streamlining Government Services Through Digital Innovation

The eGovPH Serbisyo Hub functions as a comprehensive one-stop shop for a wide array of government services, offering residents a more convenient and streamlined approach to scheduling appointments, uploading necessary documents, and accessing support from various agencies, including DSWD. By utilizing the eGovPH mobile application, beneficiaries can now easily reserve appointments to receive aid from DSWD FO 7, reducing wait times and simplifying the process.

How to Access AICS Support via the eGovPH App

Interested residents must first download the eGovPH application from the Google Play Store or App Store to initiate the appointment scheduling process. Once installed, users can book appointments and access AICS services such as medical and funeral assistance. However, it is important to note that an interview and assessment by a social worker will still be conducted to determine the client's eligibility for the requested aid, ensuring that support is directed to those most in need.

Leadership and Community Impact

During a recent service hub activity, DSWD 7 Regional Director Shalaine Marie Lucero personally assisted clients alongside staff from the Crisis Intervention Section (CIS), demonstrating the agency's commitment to hands-on support. RD Lucero emphasized that the eGovPH Serbisyo Hub not only fosters stronger collaboration among government agencies but also brings vital services closer to the people of Cebu.

"We are deeply grateful to the Bagong Pilipinas eGovPH Serbisyo Hub for enabling this transformative project. This initiative not only strengthens our collaboration with fellow government agencies but also brings essential services closer to the people of Cebu, empowering our communities and fostering inclusive progress for all," stated Lucero.

Background on the Bagong Pilipinas eGovPH Initiative

The Bagong Pilipinas eGovPH Serbisyo Hub is an initiative under the administration of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., aimed at digitizing public services to make them more accessible and citizen-friendly. This effort aligns with broader goals of modernizing government operations and improving service delivery across the Philippines.

Operational Details for Residents

The facility is open from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, to serve residents of Mandaue and neighboring areas. This schedule ensures that individuals can access support during standard working hours, facilitating easier integration into daily routines.

This partnership between DSWD 7 and the eGovPH Serbisyo Hub represents a significant advancement in public service innovation, leveraging technology to enhance crisis assistance and community support in Central Visayas.
