Arrests and Seizures

In the house of a suspect identified only as “Ron,” authorities seized a caliber 45 pistol and assorted ammunition. The CIDG stated that Ron had no License to Own and Possess Firearms (LTOFP).

At a nearby residence, the teams recovered three suspected loose firearms—a caliber 5.56 rifle, a caliber 40 pistol, a 12-gauge shotgun, and ammunition—from “Alpi,” who was identified as Ron’s brother. Alpi was arrested after failing to present documents permitting the possession of the three firearms.

Legal Implications

The arrests were made under Republic Act No. 10591, which regulates the ownership, possession, and carrying of firearms and ammunition in the Philippines. The suspects face charges for illegal possession of firearms and ammunition.
