Born on January 21, 1947, in Aurora, Zamboanga del Sur, Paredes was a human rights lawyer and activist. He was imprisoned during the dictatorship of former president Ferdinand Marcos Sr., reflecting his lifelong commitment to justice and human rights.
Wake and Funeral Arrangements
According to his family's Facebook post, his wake will be held from Sunday, July 12, to Friday, July 17, at Cosmopolitan Memorial Chapels in Barangay Lahug, Cebu City. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 18, at the Archdiocesan Shrine of Saint Therese of the Child Jesus in Barangay Lahug. He will be laid to rest afterward at the Angelicum Garden of Angels in Barangay Canduman, Mandaue City.
