The new World Boxing Council (WBC) super middleweight champion, Canadian Christian Mbilli, is set to face the biggest fight of his career on September 12, 2026, at the ANB Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Historic Bout for Quebec Boxing
This fight, considered the greatest in the history of boxing in Quebec, Canada, will see Mbilli defend his crown against Mexican superstar Saul "Canelo" Alvarez.
"Canelo Alvarez is the greatest test of my life—a life of effort, perseverance, and hard work that has prepared me for this moment. On September 12, I promise to etch my name into the history of the sport by delivering a war like you've never seen," Mbilli said in a statement published on BoxingScene.com.
Promoter's Perspective
Mbilli's promoter, Eye of the Tiger Management (EOTTM) President Camille Estephan, noted that he had long sought this fight but it only now came together.
Mbilli, who was born in Cameroon but now resides in Quebec, holds a record of 29-0-1 with 24 knockouts. Alvarez, a former undisputed super middleweight champion, has a record of 63-3-2 with 39 knockouts.
