A motorcyclist died after overshooting a canal and hitting the concrete pavement on the national highway in Barangay Panalipan, Catmon town at around 12:40 a.m. on Monday, May 4, 2026.
Victim identified
The victim was identified as Elvin Mansueto Sanchez, 29, a resident of Taboc, Barangay Looc, Danao City.
According to the investigation of the Catmon Municipal Police Station, witnesses stated that the victim was riding a Honda Beat with plate number G6489D.

Cause of accident
Due to high speed, the motorcycle suddenly swerved towards the canal beside the road. The impact was so strong that the victim was thrown from the vehicle and hit the cemented road.
He was immediately rushed to Sogod District Hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
