President Marcos Extends Congratulations
“Congratulations, Alex. Keep it up. We’ll all be here. The whole Filipino nation is cheering you on. And we know that you are fighting for making proud and bringing luster and honor to the Philippines. Keep going, keep going, keep going. We are behind you,” the President said.
According to the Chief Executive, Eala still has much to show in the world of tennis, expressing pride that she continues to bring honor to the country. “If you remember when she first started winning, I said she’s just getting started. Well, you can see, turns out I was right. She’s just getting started. Our child has a lot more to show. Really, it’s good news,” Marcos remarked.
Call for Continued Support
Marcos also urged the public to keep supporting Eala, emphasizing that the entire Filipino nation stands behind her in her fight for the Philippines. “She really is becoming a true inspiration, especially for younger people, younger Filipinos. Imagine, we now have a player, a female player who won in the third round in Wimbledon. It does not get… Tennis does not operate at a higher level than Wimbledon, so she’s really world-class. She’s terrific,” the President added.
The President further shared, “I caught the last set this morning. And it was… It was a great result.”
