The San Antonio Spurs secured their first victory in the best-of-seven Western Conference Finals against the Oklahoma City Thunder, winning 122-115 in double overtime.
Wembanyama Dominates
Victor Wembanyama led the Spurs with an impressive 41 points and 24 rebounds. Rookie Dylan Harper contributed 24 points, stepping in for De'Aaron Fox after he suffered an injury.
Thunder's First Playoff Loss
This loss marks the Thunder's first defeat of the playoffs. Spurs coach Mitch Johnson revealed that Wembanyama was motivated by not winning the Most Valuable Player award, which went to Thunder star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.
Gilgeous-Alexander was limited to 24 points as Oklahoma City aimed to become the first team to repeat as champions since the Golden State Warriors in 2017 and 2018.
