Filipino tennis ace Alex Eala continues her clay season campaign by joining the Internationaux de Strasbourg from May 17 to 23, 2026, in France.
The 20-year-old Filipina is currently in the qualifying round of this Women's Tennis Association (WTA) 500 event, one of the major warm-up tournaments leading to the French Open in Paris, scheduled from May 24 to June 6.
The Strasbourg tournament features a 28-player singles main draw and has been one of the most significant preparatory events for the French Open, also known as Roland Garros, since its inception in 1987.
The reigning champion of the Strasbourg event is world No. 2 Elena Rybakina of Kazakhstan, who recently defeated Eala in the Round of 32 at the Italian Open in Rome.
At the Italian Open, Eala posted two victories before bowing out to Rybakina.
Eala will also compete in the doubles draw of the Strasbourg tournament, partnering with Canadian Victoria Mboko.
