UV Green Lancers Continue Winning Streak in Cesafi

The University of the Visayas (UV) Green Lancers delivered another impressive performance in the Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation, Inc. (Cesafi) collegiate basketball tournament, securing a decisive 91-82 victory against the Cebu Institute of Technology-University (CIT-U) Wildcats. This crucial win, which took place on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at the Cebu Coliseum, propelled the Green Lancers to a formidable 9-2 win-loss record, solidifying their position as a top contender in the league.

Star Performances Lead to Victory

The Green Lancers' success was fueled by exceptional individual efforts, with Karl Hyden Cabulao emerging as the game's top scorer. Cabulao dominated the court, contributing a remarkable 22 points for his team. He received strong support from his teammates, including Raul Gentallan who added 15 points, Rovello Robles with 13 points, and Kent Ivo Salarda who chipped in 12 points. Despite the loss, the CIT-U Wildcats saw valiant efforts from Jerian Marc Abello, who scored 18 points, and James Ronald Tagocon, who finished with 16 points.

UV Baby Lancers Secure Consecutive Wins

The winning momentum extended to the high school division, where the UV Baby Lancers also claimed victory. They defeated the University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R) Baby Jaguars with a final score of 67-59. The Baby Lancers were powered by a double-double performance from AJ Ejurango, who recorded 20 points and 13 rebounds. Clint Paglinawan was also instrumental, contributing 17 points, 8 rebounds, 3 steals, and 1 block. For the Baby Jaguars, Krstc Ryll Da Silva led the charge with 17 points, 10 rebounds, and 3 steals.

Looking ahead, the Cesafi action continues with more exciting matchups scheduled for Wednesday, November 26, 2025. In the high school division, Cebu Eastern College (6-2) will face Benedicto College (3-5) at 5:15 P.M..
