Honoring a Legacy in Football
The Fr. Peter Zago Football Cup was initiated in 2024 by the Don Bosco Football Club as a tribute to the late Fr. Peter Zago, a Salesian priest at DBTC who was deeply passionate about football. His dedication to promoting the sport within Don Bosco schools across the Philippines has left a lasting impact, and this tournament serves as a fitting homage to his contributions. Over the years, it has grown to attract some of the best football clubs and teams in Cebu, fostering community engagement and athletic excellence.
This year's edition promises to build on that legacy, offering a platform for young athletes to showcase their skills and compete at a high level. With such a large number of participants, the event is expected to draw significant attention from sports enthusiasts and local supporters, highlighting the vibrant football culture in the area.
