Abne Ready to Face Zhu in IBF Title Eliminator on May 9
Abne Confident Ahead of IBF Eliminator vs Zhu

The camp of Ian Paul Abne is confident that he will succeed in a difficult mission as he faces Chinese boxer DianXing Zhu in the International Boxing Federation (IBF) minimum weight world title eliminator this Saturday, May 9, 2026, at the New Cebu Coliseum.

Abne's trainer from the Cebu-based ARQ Boxing Stable, Fernando Ocon, stated that they have done everything in training to secure victory in this highly anticipated fight, which serves as the main event of the "Fist of Fury 10 - The Eliminator" boxing event promoted by Chao Sy International Promotions.

According to Ocon, after more than three months of training, his confidence has grown that Abne will achieve victory and counter Zhu's abilities. Zhu is known for his aggressiveness and relentless attacks.

Ocon acknowledged that Zhu possesses significant power, but he believes that whatever Zhu displays inside the ring, Abne can handle.

Roger Justine Potot, the strength and conditioning coach of ARQ, noted that he has observed significant improvement in Abne's conditioning, which is one of the necessary weapons to counter Zhu's style.

The winner between Abne (12-0, 4 KOs) and Zhu (16-1, 14 KOs) will become the mandatory challenger to IBF minimum weight champion Filipino Pedro Taduran, who will personally watch the fight.
