Chao Sy and FISTCO Join Forces for Taduran-Zhu World Title Fight
Chao Sy, FISTCO Team Up for Taduran-Zhu Title Bout

Cebu-based Chao Sy International Promotions is set to collaborate once again with China-based FISTCO Boxing Promotions for a major upcoming project: the title defense of International Boxing Federation (IBF) minimumweight champion Pedro Taduran against his mandatory challenger, Chinese fighter DianXing Zhu.

Promoter Confirms Plans

Lorenzo “Chao” Sy, owner of Chao Sy International Promotions, expressed his desire to partner anew with FISTCO to promote the Taduran-Zhu world title fight. The two promotional outfits previously worked together on the Fist of Fury 10: The Eliminator boxing card, held on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at the Cebu Coliseum. In that event, Zhu defeated Filipino Ian Abne via unanimous decision to secure the mandatory status for Taduran’s title.

Potential Venue

Sy indicated his preference to hold the Taduran-Zhu title fight in Cebu but acknowledged the challenges. “We’ll see, but there’s a chance it could be here in Cebu. It’s very difficult in China because boxing is not yet strong there, and regulations are strict. Japan is also a possibility,” Sy said.

He added that after the 41st Annual IBF Convention, scheduled for May 24-28 in Vietnam, significant steps will be taken regarding the bout. “After the IBF Convention, Zhu’s team will make an offer to Taduran,” Sy explained.

Continued Partnership

Whether or not they succeed in promoting the Taduran-Zhu fight, Sy clarified that his collaboration with FISTCO will continue for future promotions. The partnership aims to bring high-quality boxing events to fans in the region.
