Overall, the defending champion Thunder now holds a 6-0 record in the postseason after sweeping the Phoenix Suns 4-0 in the first round.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Chet Holmgren each scored 22 points to lead the Thunder. Gilgeous-Alexander, the reigning regular season and Finals MVP, achieved this despite being limited to 28 minutes due to foul trouble.

The Lakers led by five points before the Thunder's offense erupted with a 25-7 run to take a 13-point lead, 89-76, late in the third quarter. After that, the Thunder never allowed the Lakers to regain the lead.

The Thunder, who also defeated the Lakers 108-90 in Game 1, received 20 points from Ajay Mitchell and 18 points from Jared McCain.

The Lakers, still competing without leading scorer Luka Doncic due to injury, were led by Austin Reaves with 31 points, while LeBron James added 23 points.

In the East, the host Detroit Pistons also took a 2-0 advantage in their conference semi-finals after defeating the Cleveland Cavaliers 107-97. The Pistons were led by Cade Cunningham with 25 points and 12 rebounds, Tobias Harris added 21 points, and Duncan Robinson contributed 17 points. The Cavaliers were led by Donovan Mitchell with 31 points, while Jarrett Allen added 22 points.
