Talisay Athletes Win 4 SEA Games Medals

The coastal city of Talisay in Cebu has erupted in pride as its homegrown athletes delivered an outstanding performance at the ongoing 33rd Southeast Asian (SEA) Games in Thailand. Leading the charge was triathlete Andrew Kim Remolino, who secured an impressive total of four medals for the Philippines.

A Stellar Medal Haul for Andrew Kim Remolino

Remolino's exceptional endurance and skill were on full display across multiple events. His golden moment came in the mixed relay triathlon, where teamwork and strategy led to a top podium finish. He added a silver medal in the mixed relay aquathlon and another silver in the individual triathlon event. Rounding out his collection was a bronze medal in the men's relay aquathlon, bringing his total medal count to four.

He was not alone in bringing glory to Talisay. Fellow athletes Raven Faith Alcoseba and Mathew Justine Hermosa also contributed to the city's golden tally in the triathlon and aquathlon competitions, making it a historic outing for the Talisaynon contingent.

Adding to the celebratory mood, Vice Mayor Richard Francis “Choy” Aznar praised the young athletes for their exceptional talent and dedication displayed on the regional sporting stage. He announced concrete plans to honor their feat.

Vice Mayor Aznar stated that the city council will pass a formal resolution to commend the three Talisaynon athletes. Furthermore, he confirmed that the champions will receive financial incentives upon their return to the Philippines, a tangible reward for their hard-earned success.
