The ZUS Coffee Thunderbelles have secured their spot in the Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference championship after a dominant straight-sets victory over PLDT at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on Thursday evening, November 27, 2025.
Thunderbelles Dominate Semifinal Match
ZUS Coffee displayed impressive form throughout the semifinal encounter, defeating the High-Speed Hitters with set scores of 25-22, 28-26, 25-22. The thrilling match lasted one hour and thirty-five minutes, showcasing high-level volleyball from both teams.
American import Anna DeBeer delivered an outstanding performance, leading her team with 30 points in the crucial victory. Filipino standout Chinnie Arroyo provided significant support with 14 points, demonstrating the team's balanced offensive attack.
Key Players Shine in Semifinal Clash
The Thunderbelles received contributions from multiple players in their semifinal triumph. Alexis Miner added eight points, including two crucial blocks, while Jovelyn Gonzaga and Thea Gagate contributed seven and six points respectively.
The team's defensive efforts proved equally impressive. Cloanne Mondonedo orchestrated the offense with 18 excellent sets, while Alyssa Eroa anchored the defense with 23 digs throughout the match.
For the defeated PLDT squad, Anastasia Bavykina led with 16 points, followed by Savannah Dawn Davison who chipped in 15 markers in the losing effort.
Championship Showdown Set for Sunday
The victory sets up an exciting championship duel between ZUS Coffee and the Petro Gazz Angels. The one-game title match will take place at the Smart Araneta Coliseum, commonly known as the Big Dome, on Sunday.
Petro Gazz earned their finals berth after a hard-fought five-set victory over Akari, with scores of 25-19, 25-17, 15-25, 22-25, 15-13. Brooke Van Sickle led the Angels with 23 points from 20 attacks and three blocks, complemented by 18 receptions and 13 digs.
Following the match, an elated Anna DeBeer shared her excitement about reaching the finals: "This is just so awesome for our program. To be here – I'm so thankful. And to make history for ZUS Coffee... I know we still have so much more to give, and I can't wait for Sunday."
The stage is now set for what promises to be an electrifying PVL Reinforced Conference championship match between two deserving finalists.
