The Davao Strikers Football Club has written a remarkable chapter in youth sports history, with their under-6 squad achieving an undefeated championship run in the prestigious Eneos Cup 2025 tournament.
Undefeated Journey to Glory
On Sunday, November 23, 2025, at Tionko Field, the young athletes of Davao Strikers FC completed their perfect campaign by defeating CR7 Foodtruck FC with a 4-2 victory in the championship match. This final win capped off an impressive tournament where the team never experienced defeat, showcasing exceptional skill and determination throughout the competition.
Under the guidance of head coach and team owner Murphy Jake S. Somosot, the Strikers demonstrated significant growth from their opening match to the championship finale. Coach Somosot emphasized attacking with confidence and maintaining defensive discipline, principles that clearly paid dividends as the tournament progressed.
Road to Championship Victory
The Strikers' journey began with a challenging 1-1 draw against CR7 Foodtruck FC, the same team they would eventually face in the finals. This initial test seemed to ignite the young players, who then shifted into dominant form with a spectacular 9-1 triumph over Crocs FC.
Their momentum continued with a 6-3 victory against Aces FC, but as the competition intensified, the Strikers adapted their strategy. Demonstrating remarkable tactical maturity for their age group, the team tightened their defensive organization, delivering consecutive clean sheets against D'Feeters FC (3-0) and Nueva Vergara (2-0) to secure their spot in the championship match.
Championship Redemption and Standout Performers
The championship final presented a familiar challenge—a rematch against CR7 Foodtruck FC. This time, the Strikers displayed how much they had developed throughout the tournament, implementing Coach Somosot's strategies with precision.
The team demonstrated superior pressing, quicker passing combinations, and clinical finishing to secure the 4-2 championship victory and lift the Eneos Cup trophy. Their performance in the final match highlighted the significant progress made in a single tournament.
Three players received special recognition for their outstanding contributions to the undefeated campaign. Leon Ragnar P. Correa earned Most Valuable Player honors, while Sage Yzekiel Mariscotes claimed the Golden Boot award as the tournament's top scorer. Edelle Cersei Arellano was recognized as the Best Defender for her exceptional defensive work.
The complete championship roster also included valuable contributors Liam Grey D. Maningo, Lonzo Ezekiel Lar, and Zayden Elli C. Sobrepeña, whose collective efforts were essential to the team's success.
