Tagum Hosts First Kids' E-Bike Motocross Race in Philippines

Tagum City Makes History with Philippines' First E-Bike Motocross Race for Children

Sharp turns, high-speed runs over track humps, and thrilling dashes to the finish line created an electrifying spectacle at San Agustin Botanical Park in Tagum City. What appeared to be a professional motocross competition turned out to be a groundbreaking event featuring young riders as the stars of the show.

Triple Milestone Achievement in Electric Mobility

Tagum City has carved its name in Philippine sports history by hosting the country's first-ever e-bike Motocross Race for Kids. The event took place at the newly completed RFN Electric Race Track inside San Agustin Botanical Park, marking a significant triple milestone for electric mobility enthusiasts.

The historic occasion served as the official launch platform for three key initiatives:

  • The RFN Race Track facility
  • The RFN Riders Club organization
  • The RFN Product Line introduction in the Philippines

This pioneering event received strong support from RFN PH under the strategic leadership of Jupiter e-Mobility Corporation CEO Glenn Garry Ayuste. The company's long-term vision focuses on developing a comprehensive electric performance riding ecosystem throughout the country.

Young Riders Showcase Talent on Specialized Track

The competition featured two distinct age categories, with participants divided into those aged five and below, and those six years old and above. All young competitors utilized electric bikes specifically designed for children, racing on a track engineered with their safety and enjoyment in mind.

In addition to the main e-bike races, the event also included a Dirt Push Bike Race that attracted participation from Tagum's established push bike community. This inclusive approach ensured various age groups and skill levels could participate in the day's activities.

Champion Leadership Drives Youth Development

The initiative was spearheaded by Kimboy Pineda, RFN PH's main brand ambassador and a nationally recognized elite motocross champion. Working alongside his brother Jesse Pineda, also a professional rider, the siblings are committed to advancing the next generation of Filipino riders through electric mobility platforms.

Emerging talent received well-deserved recognition during the event, with Cacus Space (Carlisle Atticus E. Gesalan), RFN PH Kids Category Ambassador, claiming the Championship title. The competition also highlighted promising young riders like Kayuz Penserga, whose participation demonstrates the growing grassroots momentum behind youth electric motocross in Tagum City.

Municipal Support for Community Development

Mayor Rey T. Uy emphasized in his official communications that the city's newly established race track at the Botanical Park is now actively serving the public, having successfully hosted Tagum's inaugural E-Bike Motocross Race for Kids. The municipal leader explained that this initiative was intentionally created to provide children with dedicated spaces for enjoyment, skill development, and physical activity.

The successful execution of this milestone event reflects the Tagum City Government's strong commitment to youth-centered, community-driven programs. Without the Mayor's clear support, openness to innovation, and alignment with initiatives promoting healthy lifestyles and progressive development, this historic launch would not have been possible.

Building Sustainable Electric Riding Communities

The RFN Riders Club was formally launched during the event, envisioned as the country's first organized electric riding community focused specifically on youth development. This club represents a structured approach to nurturing young talent while promoting responsible electric vehicle usage.

Looking toward future expansion, an additional Race Track Unlimited facility is planned for Barangay Apokon. This new venue will cater to both amateur and professional riders, further solidifying Tagum City's position as a hub for electric mobility sports in the Philippines.

The event's success reinforces Tagum City's growing reputation for innovation and youth development, truly embodying the spirit of progress and achievement in electric mobility sports.
