I know someone who almost fell victim to Artificial Intelligence (AI) because it can mimic your own voice and speech. My colleague nearly gave away his bank information (ATM account and PIN number) because he thought his child was calling asking for money due to an emergency. The scammer's voice using AI perfectly replicated his child's crying voice, but when he checked using the 'Find Me' feature on his phone, he saw in real time that his child was actually with his father and no emergency had occurred.
Let us explore the good and dangerous uses of AI in my Kukabildo.
Positive Contributions of AI
First, AI can enhance photos to make them more attractive or sexy. The AI robot works to thicken hair, lengthen eyelashes, and smoothen skin. Ordinary people who are not cautious may be tempted to use it because it changes appearance so much that one looks like a celebrity without plastic surgery or nose lift.
In healthcare, AI greatly helps doctors by easily and quickly detecting types of diseases, analyzing medical images and laboratory results, and improving treatment plans.
Negative Impacts of AI
On the downside, many people will lose jobs because automation using AI replaces them. Business owners accept this as they pay fewer salaries and lower maintenance costs. Their only expense is developing the AI system. Also, since it is a robot, it has no emotions or moral values like humans.
AI also threatens our privacy and security. The result is misinformation, surveillance, and an increase in scammers and fraudsters.
