Nearly half of the current number of deputized agents of the Land Transportation Office (LTO) in Central Visayas will be added as new enforcement partners of the agency. This comes after LTO 7 Regional Director Atty. Wendel Dinglasan expanded the coverage of their Law Enforcement Officers (LEOs) to reach more areas in Cebu and Bohol.
A total of 171 personnel from LTO 7 and the Cebu Provincial Police Office (CPPO) are currently undergoing the Regional Orientation and Deputation Training Workshop for Law Enforcement Officers. The training, managed by the LTO Central Traffic Safety Division, focuses on the comprehensive and effective implementation of Land Transportation Laws and other related regulations.
According to Atty. Dinglasan, the training is divided into two batches. The first batch, composed of personnel from southern Cebu, was held in Cebu City from April 20 to 22, 2025, while the remaining batch from the north was conducted from April 23 to 25, 2026.
“We have included our LTO personnel from Bohol, making sure that we have additional LEOs on the island,” the official added.
The orientation and training workshop includes discussions on Republic Act 4136, or the Land Transportation and Traffic Code; Republic Act 10586, or the Anti-Drink and Drugged Driving Act of 2013; and other special laws on road safety and traffic enforcement.
Of the 171 personnel undergoing orientation, 100 are from LTO 7 District and Extension Offices, while the remaining 71 are from the CPPO.
