Mass Wedding Highlights Tarragona's 60th Anniversary
The Municipality of Tarragona in Davao Oriental is set to celebrate its 60th Founding Anniversary with a special mass wedding ceremony for 60 couples. The event, called Kasalan ng Bayan 2026, will take place on June 14 as part of the town's founding anniversary and the first Ka'aNiYogan Festival.
Mayor Bulaong's Gifts to Couples
Mayor Art Benjie "Kaka" Bulaong announced that each couple will receive PHP 10,000 cash, a professional photoshoot, and a wedding cake to make their day extra special. The local government also assisted the couples with pre-wedding processes and requirements.
The mayor explained that the number 60 was intentionally chosen to match the town's 60 years of existence. He emphasized that both the Ka'aNiYogan festival and the anniversary are dedicated to the people of Tarragona.
Community Support Initiatives
The Kasalan ng Bayan 2026 is part of Mayor Bulaong's commitment to provide the best services to his constituents. Recently, he also launched a crisis intervention program to provide cash relief assistance to vulnerable sectors in the municipality.
