Landbank Accelerates Digital Transformation with Cash-Lite Campus and Soaring Transaction Volumes
In a significant push toward a cash-lite economy, Landbank of the Philippines has launched the Cash-Lite Campus Program, enabling students to open accounts via the Mobile Banking App and equipping campus partners and merchants with advanced digital payment solutions. This initiative comes as public trust in digital banking strengthened markedly in 2025, with Landbank reporting a 27 percent increase in usage across its digital platforms. The bank processed an impressive 800.26 million digital transactions valued at ₱4.41 trillion, representing a 30 percent rise in value from the previous year.
Mobile Banking Drives Retail Expansion and Financial Inclusion
Landbank's Mobile Banking App (MBA) has been at the forefront of its retail digital strategy, adding nearly one million users over the past two years to reach 2.40 million by the end of 2025. The app managed 714.39 million transactions worth ₱618.82 billion, showing a 26 percent growth in volume and a 37 percent surge in value year on year. Supporting this robust growth, the Cash-Lite Campus program has expanded digital payment ecosystems in universities, facilitating fully digital campus transactions, allowance disbursements, and merchant payments. To date, the program has reached more than 12,500 students, personnel, and partners across the nation, with further expansion planned for 2026.
"As a student, Landbank's Cash-Lite helps me track my personal and school-related expenses. Since I live alone, it helps me balance and manage my money," shared Joy Ann Makiling from the State University of Northern Negros, highlighting the program's practical benefits.
Corporate and Government Platforms Scale Up with Remarkable Efficiency
Digital adoption has also accelerated among corporate and government clients. Landbank's corporate internet banking platform, weAccess, processed 51.13 million transactions valued at ₱1.84 trillion, marking a 66 percent increase in volume and a 35 percent rise in value. Government disbursements through the Electronic Modified Disbursement System (eMDS) reached ₱1.55 trillion across 5.27 million transactions, growing by 28 percent in both volume and value. Additionally, the Link.BizPortal handled 8.75 million transactions worth ₱16.13 billion, with a 22 percent increase in volume and a 33 percent jump in value.
Expanding Access Nationwide to Support Grassroots and Enterprise Needs
Landbank's digital channels continue to bolster grassroots and enterprise transactions. The LandbanKasama partner network facilitated 3.10 million transactions worth ₱16.00 billion, extending vital services to geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas. Other key systems showed strong performance: the Landbank Bulk Credit System processed ₱74.96 billion, up 3 percent in value; the Landbank Remittance System handled ₱80.34 billion, rising 18 percent year on year; and the e-Tax Payment System collected ₱177.25 billion, increasing by 13 percent.
These gains underscore how Landbank's digital platforms are becoming integral to daily financial activities—from payroll and remittances to tax payments. By expanding access and enhancing efficiency, the bank actively supports the government's drive for digital transformation, fostering a more inclusive and digitally enabled economy.
Landbank President and CEO Lynette V. Ortiz emphasized, "Inclusive and sustainable banking is anchored on public trust. When systems are accessible, inclusion becomes scalable, and national development accelerates. At Landbank, we remain steadfast in bringing financial access closer to Filipinos—from countryside to countrywide."
