Senator JV Ejercito, together with Cebu Governor Pamela “Pam” Baricuatro and Health Consultant Dr. Nikki Catalan, inspected hospitals managed by the Province of Cebu to secure funding for their expansion and elevation to higher classification levels. The inspection aligns with the senator's push for improved healthcare under the Universal Health Care Act.
Danao City Provincial Hospital Visit
Among the facilities visited was the Danao City Provincial Hospital, followed by hospitals in southern Cebu. Ejercito, a principal author of the Universal Health Care Act, committed to supporting the province's request for additional hospital equipment and infrastructure upgrades. The law aims to expand access to quality medical treatment for all Filipinos.
Minglanilla Hospital Level I Upgrade
After Danao, Ejercito proceeded to the municipality of Minglanilla, which seeks to upgrade its hospital to Level I status. This upgrade would broaden the range of services available to local residents, including emergency care and basic inpatient services. The senator's support is seen as crucial for expediting the processing and development of hospital services and equipment.
Governor Baricuatro emphasized that the provincial government prioritizes healthcare improvements for its constituents. She expressed hope that Ejercito's assistance would accelerate the procurement of modern medical equipment and the expansion of hospital facilities across Cebu. The collaboration aims to enhance the overall healthcare delivery system in the province, benefiting thousands of residents who rely on public hospitals for their medical needs.
