A 31-year-old transgender individual, known by the alias “Dyosa,” was arrested after being accused of stealing a valuable watch from a foreigner who allegedly failed to pay for services rendered. The incident occurred on June 21, 2026, at a club in Barangay Lahug, Cebu City.
Suspect and victim identified
The suspect, a resident of Barangay Ermita, was identified by the alias “Dyosa.” The victim, an American identified as “Vas,” is 40 years old, married, and currently residing in Barangay Kasambagan.
According to the investigation by the Mabolo Police Station, Dyosa allegedly took Vas’s watch around 3:00 a.m. on June 21 while visiting the foreigner’s rented unit without permission.
Confrontation leads to arrest
On June 25, the two met again at a club in Lahug, where the foreigner confronted Dyosa about the missing watch, which he described as having “sentimental value.” Dyosa allegedly admitted to pawning the watch and asked Vas for P3,000 to redeem and return it. Suspicious, Vas sought police assistance.
During the police operation, it was discovered that the watch had not been pawned but was instead sold on the street.
Suspect admits to selling watch
When questioned by authorities, Dyosa confessed to selling the watch for P800, claiming he was not paid by the foreigner as agreed. “Our agreement was that he would give me P3,000. I did everything he asked, but he didn’t pay me because he said he was too drunk when it happened. So I took his watch. That was his payment,” the suspect said.
Dyosa added that this was his first time with Vas as a customer, but he had been deceived by others many times, receiving only promises.
Suspect ready to face charges
The suspect stated he is willing to face the consequences if Vas files a case of Robbery Extortion against him.
